To my Dear Bees: Why would you build comb and fill it with honey in the squishy little space between the top of the frames and the inner cover, when you have more than two empty frames yet to fill in your hive?

Welcome!
I've now experienced one warm season as a beekeeper and I'm heading into my second. My beautiful bees survived the winter, so now I can focus on helping them make honey for me!
Before buying my nucs, I spent about a year researching honeybees, took an intro info course, then took a more in-depth course where I could actually work with the bees. I wanted to make sure I wasn't too much of a spaz. Turns out I'm not too much of a spaz, and I'm really really enjoying myself! This blog is a way for me to keep track of how things go, and share my good times with anyone who's interested.
